This is what it’s all about
Activities that offer challenge, excitement, and adventure and the knowledge you pick up along the way through structured lectures and first-hand experience.
Don’t worry about being thrown in at the deep end. You’ll join the squadron as a trial when you get to know the other cadets and start basic training. You then get gradually introduced to activities as you progress, so you can make the most of every opportunity that comes your way.
Adventure Training, Band, Camps, D of E, Fieldcraft, Flying and Gliding, Shooting and sport are just a few of the activities on offer at the Squadron, so to keep things simple we’ve broken it down into areas which you can access using the links below.

ADVENTURE TRAINING & SPORT
From rockclimbing, kayaing and MTB, AT & Sport is an essential part of our training.


FLYING & GLIDING
Take to the skies! Flying is central our purpose and your cadet experience.

FIELDCRAFT & SHOOTING
Learn important skills by ditching the blue uniform and getting out in the field. Or take aim with our target shooting courses.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Develop your leadership skills, progress through the ranks and take command.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
From rockclimbing, kayaing and MTB, AT & Sport is an essential part of our training.

FIRST AID TRAINING
Follow our structured first aid training endorsed by St John's Ambulance and learn how to save lives.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD
We offer all three levels, Bronze, Silver & Gold. Enrolment and training fees are covered by RAFAC.

RADIO & CYBER TRAINING
Engaging in training leading to a full Radio Operator Licence, whilst learning about cyber security and modern cyber tactics.
